Planetary path
The planetary path is accessible even in winter. The jeep track leading to the Weisshorn Hotel is regularly ploughed and, as soon as the first snow flakes cover it, it transforms into a velvety milky way inviting you to discover all the planets of the solar system. All, but one, as Pluto, within the limits of our galaxy, is inaccessible in winter.
The solar system has been reproduced on a smaller scale all the way along this path, that way, like Gulliver, with every step forward, you will move a million kilometres forward through the cosmos. Without noticing it, you will move three times faster than the speed of light. Leaving from the sun, you travel a distance all the greater as each object is further from the sun. For example if you only need to walk a few hundred metres to meet the Earth, by the time you get to Neptune you will have been admiring the mountains for an hour and a half. During the winter months Pluton can be seen in the distance, but remains inaccessible. Whilst stopping along this celestial path, you will learn about the planets’ dimensions, their characteristics and above all be able to discover and admire the beauty of one which is only a stone’s throw away – planet Earth!

Price: Fr. 45.– per person

Included: professional attendance, entertainment, fondue.

Not included: personal insurance, snow-shoes, drinks.

Equipment: Snow-shoes, poles, head torch, winter clothing, hiking boots, gloves and hat.

Special offer for participants: At Sport 4000 and Chabloz-Sports snow-shoes hire for Fr. 10.– (instead of 19.–)
